Bake Cake Yourself by Jelie Osorio

Nowadays, it is usually a sweet baked dessert but normally it is made out of fried breads or cheesecakes and has a round shape. Through time, cakes have already evolved from fried breads to moist chocolate, butter, carrot, banana, lemon, strawberry, or whatever your choice of flavor, surely there is a way to make one. The shape and most especially the icing or frosting is indeed tops a cake's personality. Almost every celebration requires a cake in its menu.

Cakes could be simply made from flour, eggs, sugar, and butter or could sometimes require some milk or water and some yeast or baking powder. The bread used in cakes is not restricted from these ingredients and you could actually add some chocolate chips, caramel, rice crisps, nuts, or other toppings in the cake layers. Then the icing and cake decoration will make it more unique in taste and presentation.

Purchasing a cake would be really easy but adding some thought by making one will surely make it more special. It could be as convenient as buying a cake mix or you could also buy the ingredients which prevents you from incorporating more fat in your cake. Just prepare five ingredients and your cake is complete in 15 minutes, these include:

. 7 cups of flour
. 4 cups of sugar
. ? cups of softened butter
. 2 tablespoons of baking powder
. 1 tablespoon of salt

First, get a very large bowl where you can sift the flour. After sifting, mix the sugar, salt, and the baking powder very well to achieve and equally combined mixture. Using the bowl of your electric mixer or you could use a hand mixer; put in together the butter and 2 cups of your flour mixture. Continue mixing until an evenly distributed butter and flour is present. You'll know that you can already stop mixing if it is already smooth and very fine. Using a wire whisk, return the mixture inside your large bowl and combine the remaining flour mixture until large dough is made. Next, evenly cut the dough into 3 parts and place it in a plastic by scooping it into the measuring cups and level it out with the use of a knife. You could store the dough up to a month inside the refrigerator or inside the freezer for 3 months.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a pan, apply some grease and flour before putting a part of your dough and bake it for about 30 minutes. It is finished when it is already soft and fluffy when you touch it. Lastly, decorate your cake with some icing or frosting.
